3. Any Other Business

Two items of correspondence have been received concerning proposed rule changes for next season.  These will be discussed and voted on at the AGM.  Notification of these proposals will be distributed round all ten pubs as per the rules, and they are also published here:-

Proposal One

Sir,

Proposal to change rules

I would like to make a proposal to change the rules for Away Team practise for the Winter League.  At present, away teams are entitled to exclusive access to the table after 8.15pm, but very often home players continue to practise after this time.

I would like to propose that away teams be given exclusive access to practise on the table after 8.00pm, and that this time is strictly adhered to.  I think this would benefit all teams and make for a better game.

Yours faithfully

F. Whitley

City Arms

Proposal Two  (received by email)

Six-men / two-play-again rule

We think this rule is unfair as it allows the more experienced teams who only have 6 players available to play two men again making it very difficult for other teams.  We think that, if a team only has 6 players available, their score should be capped at that point, and the other team be allowed to use 8 men with the top 6 scores counting and the worst two scores being dismissed.  Similarly, if a team has only 7 men available, their score is capped at that point and their opponents can play 8 men with the worst score being dropped.  We think this is a fairer system than allowing two men to play again.

Yours faithfully,
Tony Carson
(on behalf of Stanley team).
